The 2019 Shamrock Bonspiel featured 12 teams with members from our club and the Sunday rental leagues. Some very interesting team names were chosen including the Potato Peelers, Fumblin Dublins and Whiskey Stones.

After a full draw on Monday, the bonspiel sorted out to a two division play-down in “A” and “C” divisions. Many of the games were one sided this year but a few close contests almost resulted in an extra end. (i.e. The Craics vs Potato Peelers).

Friday’s Finals proved the most exciting of the bonspiel as Trish Dempsey’s Whiskey Stones came back to steal 3 points in the 8th to win the A Consolation final. In the A final, Mark Watson’s Shenanigoons were also trailing the O’Lucky Lazyboyz for most of the game but managed to steal and finesse the final ends to win the trophy for a second year in a row.

The finals were followed by a wonderful Italian dinner and Irish themed trivia quiz organized by Trish Dempsey. Congratulations to all participants! For more details on teams and draw results visit the Shamrock Page.
