Competition and prize money featured in our 2022 Calcutta Bonspiel

This year the Calcutta moved to a late April date but enthusiasm was high as 12 teams competed over 4 days in a bid to win cash for players and team owners. After Tuesday’s games, four teams were left standing making it to the “A” semi-finals: Rob Philion, Steven Fagen, Howie Myers and Tyler Watson. In Thursday’s A Final and A Consolation matches, both contests went the full eight ends and were decided in a very thrilling, nail-biting last-rock scenario. In the A final, first time Calcutta winner Howie Myer’s Team won over Rob Philion’s team to seize the top prize in $$$$. Team Fagen won over Team Tyler Watson to win the A consolation, whilein the B division, the Romer Rink prevailed over Team Shepherd in a 100% EHL + Green curlers event. In the C final, Team Yaxley won over Team Weingartshofer. The consolation drink in the D final went to Marc Philion’s team who won over brother Daniel Philion’s team. Congratulations to all participants particularly the many Instructional players and Sunday rental curlers who joined the competition this year.
