The first edition of the Karl Murovic Classic was held the weekend of November 3-5. 18 teams from 8 different clubs around Montreal participated. It was a triple knockout format. The weekend was a huge success; all participants had so much fun!
The Shamrock got under way Monday March 13th with an 18 team draw which was the largest field in recent memory. The opening night saw several upsets with Instructional and Junior teams advancing into the second round of A competition.
After 25 days and 350 games of curling, Canada has won the Strathcona Cup – the world’s oldest international men’s curling bonspiel. The Montreal West Curling hosted the Scottish curlers for two games on January 29, 2023.
A total of 104 teams from 16 different clubs participated in this year’s Grand Match competition. Montreal West teams won 7 and lost 1 during the day. This was enough to allow Montreal West to win the entire event for the first time in the history of the event!!
On October 11th the MWCC curling sheets were once again active as 32 members from all leagues slid out on freshly pebbled sheets in our 2022 President’s Funspiel.
The annual ARCM tournament resumed this fall on November 20th after missing the 2020 season. Five MWCC teams entered the contest this year sporting a 4-1 record!
The 2020 Lyle Bradford Calcutta was an entertaining and challenging event featuring a roster of 14 teams and numerous owners. Several veteran champions and numerous young and talented skips participated in the hunt for cash and glory!
On November 16th, 13 teams from MWCC competed against local area clubs in the annual ARCM competition. We fielded 3 women’s teams and a record 10 men’s teams to qualify in both categories for the first time in 10 years.
