On May 4th, club members came together to celebrate the end of the curling season and raise a cheer for the winners of our various league competitions and bonspiels. Our closing dinner followed with plenty of good cheer.
The 2019 Lyle Bradford Calcutta was a successful event featuring a roster of 12 teams and numerous owners. In the A final Team Watson overcame Team Cadorette to walk away with the top prize.
The Vice President’s Bonspiel was held on January 3rd, 2019 and the 36 participants were eager to start the new year on our newly resurfaced ice sheets. Curlers of all ages from our day and evening leagues participated in the 2 game x 4 end draw format.
The Rock for Kids benefit show took place at MWCC on Saturday November 17th as an exciting and unique fundraiser for Kurling for Kids! The goal was to raise at least $700 but after all was sung and done, we raised a total of $1,200!
In the annual ARCM Grand Match & Grand Dame event last Saturday, 9 MWCC teams competed at home and away. Our 3 women’s teams posted a 2-0-1 record and finished 2nd overall out of 15 teams! Congratulations!
Our 5th Annual golf tournament was held on September 15th at the Caughnawaga Golf Club. Record breaking summer weather prevailed to make it a golf-perfect day!

The First Annual MWCC Doubles Tournament took place April 13 & 14th and was a big hit! Inspired by the addition of Doubles Curling at this year’s Olympic Games, Trish Dempsey & Chris Byrne organized and ran our first doubles contest which was both larger in scope and more exciting than expected.
