This year the Calcutta moved to a late April date but enthusiasm was high as 12 teams competed over 4 days in a bid to win cash for players and team owners.
An 8 ender is a rare event in our club and even less likely during Ladder competition. Congratulations to Rob Philion and his Ladder teammates Alex Hall, Erika DiDonato & Mike Allen on their achievement.
The 2020 Lyle Bradford Calcutta was an entertaining and challenging event featuring a roster of 14 teams and numerous owners. Several veteran champions and numerous young and talented skips participated in the hunt for cash and glory!
On November 16th, 13 teams from MWCC competed against local area clubs in the annual ARCM competition. We fielded 3 women’s teams and a record 10 men’s teams to qualify in both categories for the first time in 10 years.
On November 8-10, 2019, the Ladies Montreal Curling Club celebrated 125 years of women’s curling with an invitational bonspiel held at the RMCC in downtown Montreal.
On May 4th, club members came together to celebrate the end of the curling season and raise a cheer for the winners of our various league competitions and bonspiels. Our closing dinner followed with plenty of good cheer.
The 2019 Shamrock Bonspiel featured 12 teams with members from our club and the Sunday rental leagues. Friday’s Finals proved the most exciting of the bonspiel as Trish Dempsey’s Whiskey Stones came back to steal 3 points in the 8th to win the A Consolation final. In the A final, Mark Watson’s Shenanigoons trailed behind the O’Lucky Lazyboyz through the first half, but came back in the final ends to win the trophy for a second year in a row.
