The 2019 Lyle Bradford Calcutta was a successful event featuring a roster of 12 teams and numerous owners. In the A final Team Watson overcame Team Cadorette to walk away with the top prize.
The Vice President’s Bonspiel was held on January 3rd, 2019 and the 36 participants were eager to start the new year on our newly resurfaced ice sheets. Curlers of all ages from our day and evening leagues participated in the 2 game x 4 end draw format.
The Rock for Kids benefit show took place at MWCC on Saturday November 17th as an exciting and unique fundraiser for Kurling for Kids! The goal was to raise at least $700 but after all was sung and done, we raised a total of $1,200!
In the annual ARCM Grand Match & Grand Dame event last Saturday, 9 MWCC teams competed at home and away. Our 3 women’s teams posted a 2-0-1 record and finished 2nd overall out of 15 teams! Congratulations!
The 20th annual Kurling for Kids funspiel was held this past Saturday April 7th. A total of 96 curlers as well as friends, families and numerous volunteers were present to celebrate this special event.

On the first weekend of March, eight players and their families traveled to Schenectady, NY to compete in the annual Schenectady Green Junior Bonspiel. Team Canada (Tyler Watson, Danny Bell, Chris Byrne & Tyler Rowley) went undefeated, and re-captured their 2017 title as the Schenectady Green Junior Bonspiel champions!
The marquee event of January is the annual Junior Invitational Leprechaun Bonspiel. MWCC fielded four of the 10 teams in the Recreational Division and one team in the Competitive division. Click the box to read all about it!
Our annual Vice-President’s Funspiel was held on January 2nd and featured 31 members playing on 8 teams. Congratulations to the Stephen Fagen Rink who were the only team to win both games for a total of 19.5 points. Team Robbie Sproule came in second place with 13.5 points followed by the John Ford rink with 12.5 points.
