In the annual ARCM Grand Match & Grande Dame event last Saturday, 9 MWCC teams competed at home and away. Our 3 women’s teams posted a 2-0-1 record and  finished 2nd overall out of 15 teams! Congratulations!  Strong performances were had by Sophie Belanger’s team on home ice (10-3) against Pointe Claire and by Gloria Toteda’s team (19-2)  against Lachine (at Lachine) . Kudos to Team Joelle Green for adding bonus points to our club (despite winning the Silver in TMR).

Our Men fielded 6 teams out of the 8 teams needed to qualify, and had a difficult day posting a 1-1-4 record.Team Marc Philion brought home the only victory (16-4) over St Lambert in Mt Bruno. At home, Team Adam Cartwright started off strongly with a 7-1 lead after 5 ends, but ended the day with a tie (8-8) against Hudson Legion. Also at home, Team Botsford were tied with Lachine in the 9th end but could not steal the 10th away losing 11-6. Kudos as well for representing MWCC to the other teams led by Tom McPherson, Tony Weingartshofer and Jean-Marie Martin.
