The Doubles Competition typically falls in late March or Early April and is a very popular event with club members. Organized by Trish Dempsey and Chris Byrne, it is a chance to partner up with a friend, pick a creative name and curl till you drop (or so it seems sometimes!) .
2019
The 2nd annual MWCC Doubles Competition had a great turnout, with 18 teams comprised of 38 players! There were some unique team names, and even more creative team photos. For all the Photos check out the BLOG POST. The non-official Best Team Name Award goes to Geneviève Lemieux & Karolyn Brault of “Super Mario Bros” for their conceptual fusion of fiction and reality. The 2019 Doubles winners were:
- Gold: Double Takeout, Alex Patton & Steven Fagen
- Silver: The Pussy Cats, Dianne Huculak & Glenna Jacobs
- Bronze: Les Rocks, Joelle Green & PierreCadorette
- 4th Place: The O’Dansteins, Gary Rothstein & Heidi Bodanis
2018
The First Annual MWCC Doubles Tournament took place April 13 & 14th and was a big hit! Teams were challenged to come up with a unique photo idea, where they were asked to hold their team sign anywhere within the four walls of the club. For all the Photos check out the BLOG POST. - Gold: Mark & Tyler Watson (they also had the best shoot out score!)
- Silver: Alex Hall & Anne Mitchell
- Bronze: Rob Philion & Kelly Gazdewich
