The following leagues are available at the Montreal West Curling Club:
Past Presidents Ladder (Tuesday)
The Past Presidents is one of two competitions relating to what is known as the Ladder Competitions. As the name suggests, it is named in honour of our past presidents. It is played on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 and 8:45pm.
So, what is the Ladder Competition? Like a ladder, there are steps or sections to this competition. The better a team plays, the higher it moves up the ladder. The opposite occurs when a team is not playing as well. It will move down the ladder to a lower section. Historically, the best players in the club join in the ladder competition for it is within this competition that our yearly club champion is crowned.
Grafton-Hunt Ladder (Thursday)
The Grafton/Hunt is one of two competitions relating to what is known as the Ladder Competitions. The Grafton Hunt ladder plays Thursday evenings at 6:30 and 8:45pm. It is named in honour of two persons. The Grafton family named the trophy in memory of their father, Geoff Grafton, an avid curler who passed away much too young. The second person is Charlie Hunt, a former president and very good friend to many in our club.

Whiff ‘n’ Putt Golfing Group
Summer months are spent on the golf course with many of the curlers changing from their curling shoes to golf shoes and short-sleeved shirts. The season opens in May and continues until curling season begins in October. Tuesday and Thursdays are golfing days at one of the local golf courses!
Rockin’ Walkers
Wednesday mornings are “walking mornings” along the parks of the St. Lawrence in Verdun, Lachine and Pointe Claire. The bird sanctuary in LaSalle and René Levesque Park in Lachine are great delights with their vegetation and special birds. Sometimes the walk is topped off with a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone at the Dairy Queen in Lachine! Lots of fun!
