Once every 10 years, Canada plays host to the world’s oldest international men’s curling bonspiel, the “Strathcona Cup”. This month-long curling bonspiel brings together 60 male curlers from Scotland to play against Canadians in curling clubs across Canada.
The Montreal West Curling hosted the Scottish curlers for two games on January 29. After 25 days and 350 games of curling, Canada has won the Strathcona Cup. It was, 2,454 shots for Canada vs 2,317 shots for Scotland. A +137 for Canada. This was the first time the Canadians had won in Canada since 1983. The MWCC contribution to the total was a + 4. A job well done!.
